Basic windows of the LWW program
The LWW program desktop has four basic windows that are permanently open and cannot be closed by the user.
- Spectrum window – contains the plot of the IR spectrum
- Vibrational States window – contains the list of vibrational levels that were automatically detected in reading the energy file
- Branches window – empty at start. This window is the control center of the program. As soon as the first branch is added to the project in the Add New Branch form, it appears as a new line in the Branches window and together with it the fourth window, which cannot be closed by the user and remains permanently opened appears
- Assignments window – contains the wavenumbers of the currently active branch (see below), predicted from the Energy and the nearest matching wavenumbers found it the peaklist of the FT spectrum. This window can be used for making assignments as described further.
When a new project is created, the Branches, Assignments and Vibrational States windows are empty. After the energy file is read the first time, the contents of the energy file is analyzed and the found vibrational states are listed in this Vibrational States window.
Besides this minimum configuration, two other types of windows are usually open in the running project
- PeakList window – contains the list of wavenumbers and peak intensities corresponding to the spectrum displayed in the Spectrum window.
- Loomis-Wood window(s) – contain the symbolic representation of individual branches of the analyzed spectrum.
- LW Spectrum Viewer window – contains a static view of sections of spectra corresponding to the current line(s) of the opened Loomis-Wood diagrams.
